Limiting God

How often do we limit God? Not just in our everyday lives but in our writing careers as well. Is there a publishing contract you've labeled 'unattainable'? Is there a contest you've said was 'impossible'?

"For with God nothing shall be impossible." - Luke 1:37

God knows the desires of your heart. Your dreams are not impossible. Whenever you're tempted to declare an obstacle impossible, try repeating Proverbs 16:3. "Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established."

Ultimately what does or doesn't happen in your writing career isn't up to you. So relax. Stop worrying. Write the best novel or query or article you can and leave the results up to God. You be faithful with the words and the audience God has entrusted to you.

Great post, Deb. I limit God way too often. In writing related things, I told myself I would accomplish my writing goals for 2010 instead of saying 'I couldn't', or 'I was going to, but...' like I usually do at the end of a year. I don't remember exactly what those goals were, to be honest, but I have written a lot and had a bunch of successes :) We really can do anything through God.
